It is not unusual to see mental disorders not getting the attention and importance they deserve - particularly in a nation like India. When psychological condition becomes more of a shame than a case of worry, it is easy to see why the citizens are gaily unmindful of some serious mental conditions. Following are most underestimated psychological disorders that affect victims around the world.

Depression is the top undervalued mental disorder. It is strange for the reason that victims commonly commit suicide. One instance is the heartbreaking suicide of Robin Williams recently.

Cyclothymia is a type of chronic mood condition, which is mostly a slighter form of bipolar disorder. The causes are unidentified, though it is suspected that it might be hereditary. The victims experience mood swings between downheartedness and elevation, and affects both males and females.

An impulse control disorder called Kleptomania is probably one of the most humiliated psychological disorders. People suffering from the disorder are called kleptomaniacs. Oddly, they are not even wishing for financial or personal advantages when they steal on impulse. And they also contend with high levels of anxiety and regret before and after the act of stealing.

One more impulse control disorder, pyromaniacs have the uncontainable desire to start fires to release tension or for instant satisfaction – dissimilar from arson, which is done more for personal satisfaction. This disorder is more common in kids and adolescents, and they need cognitive behavioral therapy sessions for treatment.

Sleep Paralysis
Sleep paralysis was possibly the creepiest phenomenon some of us experienced. When it attacks, the victim is either sleeping or waking up and they suffer from complete body paralysis for the moment. It is linked with scary dreams and related to disorders such as narcolepsy and anxiety disorders.

Trichotillomania is one of the strangest psychological disorders, also called as hair pulling disorder. Patients impulsively remove their own hair and occasionally, eat it too. This condition is typically long-lasting and hard to cure. It can be started by despair or anxiety, and frequently by PTSD.

Factitious Disorder
Most individuals might not know about this, but falsifying sickness is in fact a psychological disorder. But then different from your regular office bunker, individuals with factitious disorder can attend any means to generate or amplify indications of their illness by infecting urine samples and considering giving themselves infection.

Patients of derealization experience the outside world as dreamlike and that it lacks complexity and naturalness. These indications are typical in the population and happen in conjunction with epilepsy, migraine and mild head injury. It is frequently an indication of severe sleep disorders, borderline personality disorder and schizophrenia.

Cannabis Dependence
Agreeing to study, 9% of all cannabis users have developed dependence and the rate upturns to 10-12% for regular users. Though it might not be medically very severe, this disorder can trigger withdrawal symptoms like nervousness, reduced appetite and agitation.

The last on this list is agoraphobia, a mental disorder in which the victim feels that some places are unsafe, either because they are excessively wide-open or crowded. It is a type of panic disorder in which the victim sometimes drives great distances to escape such situations, in serious instances not being able to go outside the house.
